It's 2:30 in the morning and the last wave of Mason forensicators have arrived at the Staybridge Suites in Akron, Ohio. The coaches are enjoying a glass of wine while the kids get some much needed sleep.
We've survived being pulled over by the Stow, Ohio police, losing some of our luggage, and bad van sing-alongs.
Work sessions begin bright and early tomorrow morning. We'll be posting comments and pictures throughout the day. Check back!
It is comforting to know other coaches get pulled for speeding with students in their vehicle. My run of 30 years without a ticket died in September just outside of Ft. Dodge, Ia. I was leading the pack and everyone else had a great laugh as they drove by--all five other vehicles! All I could do was wave while waiting for my $85 present from the Iowa Highway Patrol.
I know no one needs good luck because you are all such gifted and talented speakers and performers. But nevertheless, Ginny and I wish everyone a great nationals. We will be thinking of you while we watch it snow on Sunday! Harry Strong
